Chris Wood belongs to an upper-middle-class family from Dublin, Ohio, United States. His mother is Julie, a housewife, while his father is Mr. Grant, a businessman by profession.

He got his early education from Dublin Jerome High School, United States. While schooling, he was motivated by his drama teacher to follow acting and writing efficiently. 

After then, he attended Elon University in Elon, North Carolina, U.S. In 2010, he graduated in Music Theatre with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Wood spent most of his free time composing plays and sharing them with his buddies. At the age of 11, Wood got his first super-8 camera and began composing and coordinating short movies, which he introduced into neighborhood film festivities.

In the same year, they tied the knot. On March 2020, the duo announced expecting their first child and welcomed their son in September 2020.


When he was in his early twenties, Wood’s father died due to an untreated mental health condition that produced psychotic symptoms. His death was the peak of weirdness that eventually led to heart failure.

That’s why Chris believes he could not help his father in his tough time due to his lack of awareness and stigma about mental health.

After then, he became an active ambassador for mental health awareness and a member of the Board of Directors for Mental Health America.

In 2017, Wood introduced a mental health campaign and website, “IDONTMIND,” that helps to reduce the stigma around mental health and presents resources and education.
