“When I go to a resort now where people would have before been totally not dressed, they’re dressed up. When I go to cities now, people are kind of dressed like they’re at a resort when the weather is warm,” he said.
“So, it’s sort of urban resort because… I’m a big city boy, but I’m a beach bum.” Kors named the launch as an “urban resort.”
The designs start featuring strongly with a safe color palette of black and white structured blazers, fringe detailing, and flowing maxi dresses. As the show is on its way, the pieces get brighter and bolder with pops of red, magenta, lime, and sky blue. With a landing strip full of greenery and an in-house live guitarist playing the sweet sounds of standard punches, it felt like a beach resort had arrived way in the middle of New York City.
